Berths

General information applicable to all marine operations.
Ray Fry Services P.L. manages all operations of the Squadron boat service and repair facility. They are happy to assist you and can be emailed for advance enquiries and bookings on shipyard@netspace.net.au
The shipyard office is open from 7.00am until 4.00pm, Mondays through to Fridays, and can be reached by phone on 0740 351 881.
Fees may be adjusted from time to time and are based on the over-all length of the vessel. A 3 month initial membership is required prior to members’ rates being available.
Laundry facilities: Coin operated washers and dryers are installed in the work yard office building. Wash troughs, sink, and ironing boards are provided.
Showers and toilet facilities: are located in the work yard office building.
Fuel and Gas: A service station is within easy walking distance, where jerry cans can be filled with diesel, or outboard fuel: and gas refills can be arranged. Local contractors are happy to deliver bulk fuel by appointment.
Rubbish: Although bins for smaller deposits are available, boat owners are required to dispose of their own rubbish from major repairs, and refits. Work bays and marina berths are to be kept clean and tidy at all times.
Ice: Block and crushed ice is available from the clubhouse bar, or from the local service station.
Dinghy Access: Members in daily transit may keep their dinghies in the allotted spaces in the water. Cruising visitors may be granted a visitor’s dinghy permit by arrangement and payment of a per-monthly fee. Spaces however are limited.
Marina: Our 24 berth marina is designed to cater for members’ vessels. The berths range from 8 to 12 metres; but larger vessels may be accommodated if booked well in advance. Electricity and water is available to each berth. Rates are payable in advance. Visitors may be accommodated on a casual basis, and by advance arrangement through the yard office.
Pile Moorings: The Squadron has 19 pile moorings available for members’ use on a short or long term arrangement. The moorings are located half a mile upstream, so a dinghy is needed for access. Because larger vessels can be accommodated here, they tend to be very popular, however if you are interested in renting a mooring, contact the yard office for details and availability.

Travel
Lift: A 40 tonne travel lift has capacity to lift boats up to 16 feet wide. On haul-out, a water blaster and hull scraping tools are available for your use. Members’ rates do not apply to commercial vessels
Hardstand
Work Bays: Work may be carried out by the boat owner or contractors. Each work bay is provided with power and water and cyclone tie-down points; some bays have access to 3 phase power. Rates and conditions are available from the yard office.
Trailerable
Boats: Members may store their trailerable boat on the premises in spaces that are available from time to time. The squadron regards any boat of a size that may be registered to travel by road as a trailerable boat, can be stored in this area. The trailer must be kept in a condition that allows it to be readily moved. Space around the vessel must be kept tidy with no equipment left on the ground. The Squadron has an excellent all weather ramp for boat launching and retrieval of members’ boats.
Long
Term Storage: Customers who do not wish to use their boat for 3 months or more may arrange storage in the area set aside for the purpose. No work may be carried out on the vessel while it is stored.
