Series 3 Point Score - Mentor A New Skipper Program - See NOR & SIs Below
I am pleased to announce a new initiative - ” Mentor a New Skipper Program”.
We are all aware that there are seven J24 yachts in the region that should be out on the water sailing and racing.
Four current skippers have volunteered to mentor interested new skippers. At the present time, we already have five trainee skippers who have expressed interest in joining the programme. We need 1 more Mentor
The initiative is designed to activate the full fleet of J24s in competitive racing events. With this in mind the CCYS’ 3rd Point Score Series (Saturday Series) will embrace this initiative and all trainee skippers will be mentored by experienced skippers.
This will involve a commitment from the trainees and the mentors for the full series which commences on Saturday 24th July and ends on Saturday 4th September. The races will start at 1.30 pm and finish around 3.30 pm.
This means that each boat starts with a committed crew of two. The remaining 2 crew members will be sourced from existing regular crews and new sailors from the J24 training programmes.
This programme complements the Whitesails intermediate training programme and the J24 Basic Training Programme.
