First Aid Course

First Aid Course run by Coast Guard Innisfail, in collaboration with Cairns Cruising Yacht Squadron. Led by Gary Murphy, an ex-Paramedic Officer and NQ Squadron First Aid Training Officer, this one-day session on Saturday, May 25, 2024, from 08:30am to 3:00pm, will equip you with vital skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid. Gain certification aligned with Australian Resuscitation Council standards and receive a Statement of Attainment from the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard Association's Registered Training Organisation upon completion. Ensure your readiness and safety on the water by securing your place before May 1, 2024, through booking and payment via the CCYS office. Limited spots available.
Basic Nav Courses

Explore the essentials of maritime navigation with two weekend courses at the Cairns Cruising Yacht Squadron, in collaboration with the Coast Guard. Start with "Basics of Coastal Navigation" on July 20-21, focusing on traditional navigation methods like reading marine charts and plotting courses. The second course, "Basics of Electronic Navigation" on July 27-28, builds on these skills, introducing electronic charts and satellite systems. Each course is $200 per person, held over two days.
